Naturland Academy is organising an online seminar entitled “Cover Crops: Their Role in Climate Change Mitigation and Practical Application”, which will take place on 13 May 2026, from 10:00 to 12:00 CEST (Berlin time), via Zoom.
The seminar will focus on the role of cover crops in helping agriculture adapt to climate change and mitigate its impacts. Cover crops have an important role in sustainable and organic production, from retaining soil moisture and reducing erosion to increasing soil organic matter and supporting carbon sequestration.
During the seminar, participants will have the opportunity to learn about research results on cover crops and their characteristics, including the presentation of a practical tool. The programme will also include a session on enhancing soil health and carbon sequestration with cover crops, followed by practical experiences from Poland and Austria.
The seminar will be held in English, with German interpretation. Automatic subtitles will be available for other languages, so participants will also be able to use Serbian subtitles.
The event is organised within the EUKI project “Improving C-balances on organic farms for the sequestration of atmospheric carbon”, which aims to strengthen carbon sequestration in organic farming across Slovenia, Serbia and Poland through knowledge improvement, networking, demonstration trials, training and policy support.
